Rules and Regulations:

I. ELIGIBILITY

A.      The tournament is open to all Ballroom Dance Instructor Teacher, Dance sports Athlete

B.      PBA / PBL players who are currently participating in their leagues shall not be allowed to play, even if they qualify under Article I, Section A. Players who are inactive in their leagues, shall be allowed to play, provided that no three players of such background shall be fielded in the game at the same time.

C.      A team that has been found to have violated the rules on eligibility shall lose all the games that it has played. Subsequently, the opposing team will earn the victory for every game won by the erring team.

No administrative and financial penalties shall be imposed on the erring team provided that in future  games the players in question shall be taken out of the roster of official; players and no longer allowed to play . In any event that the erring team commits the same rule infraction, it shall be automatically being disqualified from the tournament.

D.      All protest on the eligibility of the players shall be accepted and entertained only up to the end of the elimination round and shall be resolved only by the Technical Committee.

II. TEAM COMPOSITION

A.      Each participating Dance Studio, Ballroom Club or D.I. team is allowed to have a maximum of fifteen (18) players who can be fielded in any game of the tournament. It is understood that this numbers shall include alternates.    

B.      Each team shall be required to submit to the Technical Committees on an agreed date before the tournament,

The following:

1.       The official list of players which shall be duly certified by the head of the participating Team. No replacement or substitution of players shall be allowed after the rooster shall be submitted and duly receive by the Technical Committee.

2.       Official numbers of the players.

3.       Player’s data sheet. The players should personally fill up the forms that is provided by the Committee and must attach to it his latest 2x2 picture.

4.       List of the coaching staff and the utility personnel.

5.       Official representative to the technical Committee.

C.      Non-submission of the requirements shall disqualify the team from participating in the tournament.

III. FORMAT

A.      Game format:

1.       The game shall be played in 4 x 10 formats. This means that there shall be four (4) periods of ten minutes each.

2.       A jump ball starts all the periods including the extra period/s.

3.       There shall be twenty-four seconds to set up the play and get a shot. If the team is not able to put up a shot before the 24th seconds, the team shall be called for a 24th second’s violation.

4.       The number of charge timeout shall be five (5); i.e., the first three quarters will have one (1) each and the last quarter, two (2) timeouts. Extra periods will also have one (1) timeout each.

5.       If a player commits his fifth (5th) foul, he must automatically leave the game.

6.       Penalty situations starts after the commission of the fifth team foul, which means that the foul shall be a free throw shooting situation for the aggrieved player.

B.      Tournament format: ( 6 )  Six Teams

1.       Elimination round

a.        If participating team is six or five it would be in a Double round robin series.

2.       Top (2) two team will play for championship three and four will play for 3rd Place

IV. GROUND RULES

A.      For rules not here in covered, the latest FIBA rules and regulations shall be applied.

B.      For matters pertaining to time, i.e., defaulting time and walk outs, the official time shall be that of the playing court.

C.      Only the official players, coaching staff, team managers and a maximum of two (2) utility personnel shall be allowed in the bench during the games.

D.      No players shall be allowed to play who is not in complete uniform. Although the player may sport the number of their choices, the uniform should indicate the respective family names. Players wearing uniforms other than those specified in the documents submitted under article II section B. shall not be allowed to play.

E.       The defaulting time is fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled playing time. A team that defaults the games shall be penalized two (2) thousand pesos only.

F.       On matters pertaining to default and team standings, The FIBA rules apply. It must be specifically stated, though, that a team with less than five (5) uniformed players in the court at the scheduled playing time shall lose the game by default.

G.      A player who is under the influenced of liquor or prohibited substance shall not be allowed to play. Smell of liquor alone is sufficient ground to discontinue playing. The same rules shall be applied to the team officials and the staff.

H.      Teams that abandons or walk out of the games for any reason whatsoever shall be given five (5) minutes to return to the playing court. Otherwise the said team shall automatically lose the game. Any teams that abandon or walks out of the game shall lose also its rights to the championship. A penalty of two (2) thousand pesos only (P 2,000.00) shall be charge to the erring team.

I.         In the event that the event is stop due to circumstances such as ; inclement weather, brown –out or force majeure and cannot be resumed in fifteen (15)  minutes , the following  shall apply:

1.       The whole game shall be played from the start if the incident happens in the first half.

2.       Only the remaining minutes shall be played if the incidents happen in the last five minutes of the last quarter, otherwise the whole second half shall be played.

3.       Only players who were present during the halted games shall be allowed to play in its continuation. Personal and team fouls shall be carried –over in the continuation of the game.

J.       A player who provokes a fight and is thrown out of the game will be suspended fore one game, which shall take effect in the succeeding game. A fine of one

Thousand pesos (P1, 000.00) shall be levied from the team of the said player. The said player shall continue to be suspended unless the fine is paid. Commission of the same offense shall lead to the barring of the said player from the tournament.

K.      A player who retaliates the same manner will merit the same penalty and fine as that article IV section J thereof.

L.       Dangerous / Flagrant / Advantage fouls are subject to FIBA rules

M.     Protest must be stated in the scorebook and submitted in writing to the Technical Committee within the next two (2) days after the game was played.

N.      Only the team captain and coaches are authorized to talk things out with the officials during the games.

O.      Unauthorized entry in to the playing area shall result to technical fouls and free throws as mandated by FIBA.

P.       In any event that a clash/ brawl happens both teams (whole team officials supporters) the game is also suspended with reference to the article IV section I hereof. Only the five players of both teams playing at the particular time when the incident happened shall be allowed to play in the continuation of the game.

Q.      Table officials and referee’s decision is final.

R.      The Technical Committee shall in no case entertain request for postponements.

S.       Team with no muses shall be charge a penalty of one thousand pesos only (1,000.00).

T.       Added amendments

A player or coach who is thrown out of the game must leave the playing premises within ten (10) minutes. If the player or coach insists to stay, causing the delay of the game the referees and the technical committee will not continue the game and forfeit the game in favor of the opposing team. 

V. TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

A.      Composition:

The technical Committee shall be composed of the Dance sports Team Pasay Sports Director and one (1) representative of the host team as co-chair.

B.      The Technical Committee shall decide on the administrative matters subject on the above mentioned rules and the new FIBA rules.

C.      The Technical Committee shall have all the rights and duties to decide on any unforeseen circumstance such as, but not limited to, Article IV Section I thereof.

D.      The decision of the technical Committee is final.

VI. WAIVER

                The Dance sports Team Pasay Inc. (Organizer) and the Technical Committee shall not be liable for accidents and injuries that may arise in the course of the tournament. It is understood that the participating team has joined the tournament out of their own free will and shall shoulder expenses incurred as a result of such accident / injuries.
